Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome are all compatible with the site. Internet Explorer 7.0 and more recent versions are recommended.
Types of Searches
There are two different Search types available: Basic and Advanced. The Search box located at the top right of each page provides a basic search option across all fields. For Advanced Search, click on the Advanced Search link below the Search box. All searches are case insensitive. Advanced Search options include:

reference number in the Short Title Catalogue Netherlands; enclose fingerprint, or portion of fingerprint, in quotation marks before searching

The Basic Search box can be given complex queries, such as:

searches specific fields, using the field names author, copinger, fingerprint, notes, publisher, shelfmark, subject, willems, year.

the wildcard * matches any string.

searches for the whole quoted string, including spaces and special characters.

fuzzy search term, for when the exact spelling is not determined; for example here, Lvgdvni, Lugduni, and Lvgdvni will all be matched.
Photography
Exterior documentary photographs include a 24-patch Munsell Color reference standard (5.7 x 8.25 cm X-Rite M50111 Mini ColorChecker chart) and a black-and-white centimeter photo scale. Photographs were taken under daylight spectrum (5000K) fluorescent lighting.
Image files are named using the item's EHC shelf mark, with all spaces replaced by underscores and all dots replaced by hyphens, followed by a suffixed number indicating the side of the book that was photographed. (Note: books printed in oriental languages have been photographed in the same manner as western-language books.)
